Sealed Quench

The Almor Wild Barfield range of industrial Sealed Quench furnaces are based on the well proven Barlow-Whitney design and can be used in a diverse range of industries.

Design Features:

  • Batch Horizontal loading
  • Multi chamber furnace with heating chamber sealed to quench tank
  • Gas carburising, carbo-nitriding, nitriding, nitrocarburising, clean hardening and annealing
  • Electrically heated or Gas heated (Energy saving, low NOx burners)
  • Maximum temperatures up to 1000 deg. °C
  • Roof mounted high performance fan for optimum atmosphere uniformity
  • Low energy loss insulation
  • Excellent temperature uniformity (+/- 6 deg °C 600 – 1000 deg °C – electric version)
  • Reactive or protective gas mixes dependant on process
  • Oil quench tanks up to 200 deg. °C
  • Optional atmosphere cooling section above quench tank
  • Advanced process control systems for optimum control of carbon or nitriding potential
